“You”

Welcome back!!!!

I am very grateful that Hurricane Irma did not do any damage to my home in South Florida! I was without power for a few days and that night it was terrible! Even though its tough when it is hot, I am grateful that everyone in my family is safe!!
Today post is about someone that truly inspires me. I see a lot of post on social media which speaks negative about men, but I truly believe that not all is bad.

The piece that I wrote today was truly inspired by a man who I met briefly while I was working on my Associates Degree. He is ONE of the few men that I have met that truly inspires me to be a better person! I hope you enjoy this poem as much as I loved writing it…

Poem will be posted below.

“You”

You were the Man I always dreamt of meeting.

I remembered when I first saw you, all dressed up.

You had a nice white shirt and a nice pair of black slacks.

“WOW!”

From that moment I wanted to get to know you.

Your name, your background, likes and dislikes…Everything.

We were in the same course and we had a project due.

Health related, or things that mattered most to you.

Apparently we needed partners, so my professor placed me in a group, but in my mind I believed it was me that was paired with just you.

We did our work, but little by little I sneaked questions in to get to know you…

I learned about your job, hobbies and your passion for helping teens. You gave them another outlet to release their anger and pain…

You taught them how to “Float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee…”

We only talked twice but each of those times you spoke, you inspired me!

When you spoke…

I was left speechless…

When you smiled,

I was left breathless.

And when you moved…

Man, it was dangerous!

The semester ended and we parted ways.

So…

I “liked” you on Facebook, and followed you on Instagram…

Prayed and hoped that you were unattached….

And even though it seemed like you were MY perfect GUY,

I then founded out that you were taken, so I did the best Christian Girl thing and took a step back…

Be Blessed, Be BOLD, and don’t forget that you are fearfully and wonderfullymade.
