Dear Women…

My friend sent me a video about African American women. I’ve seen videos about African women before and I’ve always enjoyed hearing other women talk about their shades of “chocolate.” These women spoke about their past stories and what they suffered when they were younger, and maybe even now in their adult age. Some of their stories encouraged me as a young Haitian lady. Some of their stories left me horrified and angry that they had to deal with ignorance.

As I watched those videos it reminded me of a a certain rapper who stated that he disliked African American women because they were “ugly.” I laughed at his comment! African American women are so beautiful! Not just African women but ALL women! African American women(black), Asian women, Caucasian(White) women, Indian(Brown) women, Caribbean women, etc! They are all different shades and shapes of beautiful!

After watching that video, (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10155889432699089&id=23596074088&_rdr) I felt inspired to find a few scriptures about women! Because whatever shade you may have you ARE BEAUTIFUL!!

  1. It is so sad that colorism is still an issue for our own people… some of our black men. But we are God’s creation and made in His image. Another great verse is : “God is within her, she will not fall.” ( Psalm 46:5)
