Chosen

Hello everyone written below is a poem that God inspired me to write towards the end of last year. It is based on 1 peter 2:9-10“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”

This poem definitely encourages me when I am down. Hopefully you feel encouraged as well!

From the moment I was born

You picked me out.

You had a plan for me way before My mother and father became one secretly. Way before they were even born.

Father You knew me.

Because you are God,The God of ALL creation,you planned for me.

Way before life on Earth even begun,

You knew about my features and Characteristics.

My stubbornness, and disobedient-ness

My Love of shoes, bags and everything fabulous.

And even with all of my flaws and quirks.

You planned for all of my future growth and developments;

All of my education and achievements.

You are God!

And can no man comprehend your master plans

Your thoughts are not my thoughts! Your ways are not my ways!

For as the Heavens is higher than the Earth,

so are Your ways and thoughts higher than mine!

You are God who created grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind,

God who created great whales, and every living creature that moveth God who created man,

even though you knew they would fail you,

Like me!

But I did not chose you, but you chose me!an illegitimate child Who was known for being a liar, fornicator, thief and gossiper. And you qualified her for a callingNo-one saw her fit to do!

Not even my family knew that you would use me to bring glory to you.

You are righteous judge who provides forgiveness and mercy

And because you are God you do whatever you please to do!

You have mercy on those you will have mercy

And you punish those who you choose to punish

That’s who you are,

You do not need approval by man!

you ordain those who you want to serve you!

You take the lowly of lowliess

Whether they lack eloquent speech,young or old,

Murderer, adultery

Wise or lame

you choose them.

Because Unlike man,

You do not focus on the outward appearance; you look at our hearts.

And, while I know that my heart is desperately wicked, and in me dwelled no good thing,

And every time I try to do good, evil is present

You chose me.

You sanctified me so that I may bring forth good fruit.

whatever skill, knowledge, or wisdom that I lack, God, I know that I can ask you.

For whatever I ask, lord you will provide,

you chose me,

And you first loved me.

If in all of my ways I acknowledge you, you will direct my paths

Like Jonah, I may be afraid and run away from your gospel because I am fearful to speak to men in high places.

But with you Lord, I cannot hide.

You are omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent

You have not given me the spirit of fear, so I pray for Boldness.

The boldness to stand up for your gospel.

Boldness to not be ashamed of your gospel. Within my community help me to live the gospel…

To be à rôle model,

To show them your love and compassion

Go to all nations and preach your gospel.

For you have chosen me… And ordained me…

That I may bring forth fruit…

Maybe like John the Baptist and StephenI may get killed for your gospel.

If and when that time comes,

Help to remember through any persecutions that You chose me and ordained me

That your thoughts for me are peace and not of evil!

So, if and when I die

To you Lord be all the Glory!

For to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

And throughout any sufferings, I have an expected end!
