“I didn’t notice” Original Poem

Hello Everyone! Hope all is well.

I know that my posting schedule has been a little inconsistent, but I am working on it. This is the second poem in my “almost love” poem series.

What I mean by an “almost” love is that when you meet someone and everything is going great, and then SOME HOW you find something out and what could’ve been a great relationship turns to dust.” (Stated in last post)

The last poem was entitled “Should have” which was about the feelings that you get when you first meet someone.

This poem “I didn’t notice” is a continuation of that last poem…I wrote it based on the idea how oblivious some of us can be when it comes to crushes. We often times tell ourselves that there are no gentlemen around, when truly we are the ones that aren’t giving them the time of day.

The last poem “should have” and this poem can be read together or separately. ”

Enjoy!

“I didn’t notice” by Katchee Naelle

I was so used to hearing “don’t listen to your heart, it’s deceptive,” that I forgot to use my brain…

So used to giving guys the cold shoulder, That I ignored all the subtle signs he gave.

His attention to detail, when it came to things concerning me, concerned me…

He started off small, Pointing out the tiniest lint on my shirt,

As if he was doing me a favor!Reaching down to my shirt to grab it, But now I realized that was just his excuse to sneak a touch on my shoulder…

I didn’t noticed…

He was attentive…Watching me and observing me…Hoping that I would do the same to him,

I didn’t.

I was so used to giving guys the cold shoulder, That I ignored all the signs that he gave me…

Be Blessed, Be BOLD, and don’t forget that you are fearfully and Wonderfully made!
