Reflecting on “You”/Original Poem

Hello Everyone! Thank you for coming back to my blog! I honestly do appreciate all the love and support!

For today’s blog post it’s more of a reflective poem. I wrote “YOU” Last year in September about a major crush. And one year later I am reflecting on it. (Update: nothing happened…)

You can click on the link to read “YOU” as a reminder.

The reason why I wanted to reflect on this past crush was to see if it was worth it… and after I was done reflecting I realized that he was. It is hard to meet people that are good and people that will inspire you to become a better person. And with him, he was someone that INSPIRED me to be BETTER. It’s hard to meet people like that. Even though it did not work out for us, I am still honored to have met him. (I know it may seem ‘extra’ for me to say that, but there ARE still genuinely good guys out there!)

I posted some scriptures about trusting in God when you feel like giving up on people, and giving up on love. (Some of them repeat from my last post…)

“Reflect”

I wrote about him once,

How he inspired…

and how he moved…

I wrote about what I saw,

His actions,

Never hearing his words.

I didn’t really know him…

So how could I ever had loved him?

Yeah, his moves were swift,

And his smile was sweet

But I didn’t know him.

I didn’t know what was really underneath…

Was he good? Really good?

Or was it all for show?

Was his heart true? And his motives? I longed to know.

This guy I had been crushing on…

For such a long time, I wanted to know!

Did he love the Lord?

With his actions, yeah it showed,

But looks are deceiving, so how was I suppose to really know?

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.»
